THEMES
My academic work
A recurring theme in my academic work is personhood and the body. I often return to questions of self-ownership and autonomy, and to the nature and value of “humanness” . I am interested in what it means to be a human being in an era of rapid social, biomedical and technological innovation.
The themes below represent the subject areas in which I have published, taught, and advised — including mental health and brain ageing, pregnancy and birth, including obstetric trauma, reproductive technologies and family formation, and AI ethics.
